Welcome to the Dare Salon web site
Dare Salon's owner and director, John Cooper has been hairdressing since 1980 and has headed Dare Inspirational Hairdressing since 1986.
Having been at the forefront of hairdressing in Aberdeen for many years, he has already achieved much in those years including published photographic work for leading hair magazine the Hairdressers Journal and other top publications. Seminar and show work have been John's staple over the years and has seen him and his team extremely active in the last 3 years doing cutting workshops for Wella and most recently for Schwarzkopf International.
Currently John heads up the Ryan Cooper Trust and is the man who is behind the Schwarzkopf backed bi-annual hair show which boasts contributors from all over Scotland including Patterson SA, Thomas Macmillan, and the Schwarzkopf Young Artistic Team. Funds raised at these shows go towards buying essential equipment for the cardiac wards of Scotland, and is an on going recognised Scottish charity named after John's late son who passed away in 2003. John also is current chairman of the fund raising and organising committee for the annual Aberdeen Hairdressers Charity Ball, which raises funds for VSA ( a major social care charity in the North East of Scotland) and helps fund age care in the city.
Current photographic work can be viewed in our 'Gallery' page. John Cooper has recently become a published author with the release of 'New Dog Old Tricks' (find out more and purchase yourself a copy)
