Below you will find an introduction to some of our Creative Team members
John Cooper
Dare Salon's owner and director, John Cooper has been hairdressing since 1980 and has headed Dare Inspirational Hairdressing since 1986.
Having been at the forefront of hairdressing in Aberdeen for many years, he has already achieved much in those years including published photographic work for leading hair magazine the Hairdressers Journal and other top publications. Seminar and show work have been John's staple over the years and has seen him and his team extremely active in the last 3 years doing cutting workshops for Wella and most recently for Schwarzkopf International.
Neil Anderson
Creative Stylist Neil has enjoyed a career that has so far seen him enjoy prominence within the Dare Artistic team and a stint at Saks hair and beauty. He has contributed to several shows and had a hand in assisting in photographic work that still adorns the salon walls. He has a great interest in anything that is difficult and enjoys dressing hair. If you need someone to look after your needs for a special occasion Neil is the man to help you. He will help you find the look that will both suit the wearer and be practical for the occasion. “If it’s possible we will get the job done and if it’s not then we’ll think of something.”

Colour Specialist
Robyn McVicar
Robyn is a Creative Stylist based at our Galleria Salon and enjoys a reputation for fearless cutting. Makeover time is her element, so if a complete new image is what you are after this is the girl for you. “There is nothing more satisfying than changing someone’s image, even giving them a great up do for a special night out is always exciting especially when you know you have boosted their confidence.”
Robyn’s other great skills include presentation work and she enjoys taking part in the show work and photographic assignments set by the salon.

Debbie Cassidy
Senior Creative Stylist Debbie works only two days a week at Dare and spends the rest of her time at the Aberdeen Commercial College as a lecturer in Hairdressing. One of our longest serving Stylists Debbie was our Education Director before handing the mantle over to Suzanne. She is an expert colourist and completed the Schwarzkopf Masters Colour Course. An experienced stylist and expert in all fields she is also a renowned presenter and still presents with the artistic team when called upon. Her restricted time makes her availability limited.

Natalya Meshkovskaya
Natalya hails from Estonia and is fluent in her native Estonian Russian and English. Already a hairdresser at home she nonetheless retrained here in Scotland and is now one of our senior stylists. Other than her linguistic attributes she is also particularly skilled in dressing hair and her work is now featured on our new gift vouchers and can be seen in our gallery.

Suzanne Smith
Senior Creative Stylist Suzanne has been a team member for almost 8 years and now heads our training programme. She is currently working on a salon text book and guide to cutting which will be the standard for all staff training. Our most senior member of staff in Little Belmont Street she handles all tasks expertly. A precise and knowledgeable colourist she also excels in men’s hair. Suzanne is possibly our most requested stylist and so an appointment with her might take a little patience but the wait will be well worth it.
